www.volunteer.am can also assist non-governmental organization to find out the VOLUNTEER, who corresponds to its needs. For that, please registered.

Our purpose is to raise the awareness of Armenian society about volunteerism, as well as to create the proper environment for NGOs and citizens (without age constraints) to be engaged in volunteer activities.

The page still is in the process of construction, BUT we are ready to cooperate and are waiting for your active participation in our program.

This website has been created within the frameworks of a project titled “Improvement of the Legal Framework and Promotion of Volunteerism” financed by the Democracy Commission of the USA Embassy in Armenia. The duration of the project is from April 2005 till April 2006.

Why volunteer?

Five years ago I sat on a rock scouring the vista of the Kali Gandaki gorge when a short skinny villager with a pair of tattered shorts appeared like a hobbit from behind a tree.
?What are you doing in Nepal?? he asked in an inquisitive manner. A valid question. ?I am a volunteer,? I replied. He gave me a blank look. Perhaps it was the pronunciation of my Nepali, or perhaps he just didn?t understand and instead thought ?volunteer? was a strange part of England.

Volunteering brings the world a little closer

I went to Bangkok in November. I'd signed up with Cross-Cultural Solutions as a three-week volunteer to teach English to Buddhist monks. I was excited, but unsure how much I could teach them in three short weeks.
